Ella Fitzgerald - Accentuate the positive

Accentuate the Positive by Ella Fitzgerald on Grooveshark

Efsanelerin sözlerine inanmalıyız...Ella diyor ki, positif olun. negatifi atın.

We should believe and have faith in legends' words... Ella tells us to ac-cent-tu-ate the positive, illuminate the negative. :)

Enjoy.

 Gather 'round me everybody
Gather 'round me, while I preach some
Feel a sermon coming on here
 The topic will be sin
 And that's what I'm agin'
If you wanna hear my story
Then settle back and just sit tight
 While I start reviewing
 The attitude of doing right!

You've got to accentuate the positive
 Eliminate the negative
 Latch on to the affirmative
 Don't mess with Mister In-Between
You've got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
 Have faith or pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene
 (To illustrate his last remark
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
 What did they do
Just when everything looked so dark)
 Man, they said we better
 Accentuate the positive
 Eliminate the negative
 Latch on to the affirmative
 Don't mess with Mister In-Between
No, do not mess with Mister In-Between
 Do you hear me, hmm?
(Oh, listen to me children and-a you will hear
About the elininatin' of the negative
And the accent on the positive)
And gather 'round me children if you're willin'
And sit tight while I start reviewin'
 The attitude of doin' right
 (You've gotta accentuate the positive
 Eliminate the negative
 Latch on to the affirmative
 Don't mess with Mister In-Between)
You've got to spread joy (up to the maximum)
Bring gloom (down) down to the minimum
 Otherwise (otherwise) pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene
 To illustrate (well illustrate)
my last remark (you got the floor)
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
What did they say (what did they say)
Say when everything looked so dark
 Man, they said we better
 Accentuate the positive
 Eliminate the negative
 Latch on to the affirmative
 Don't mess with Mister In-Between
No! Don't mess with Mister In-Between

Princess Chelsea - Cigarette Duet

The Brunettes adlı grupta yer alan Chelsea Nikkel adlı şarkıcı ve yakın arkadaşları (yine The Brunettes'ten) Jonathan Brunette, Pikachunes, Bradley Artesque and Gay Kings Queen, özellikle Walt Disney, J.S. Bach, Pinkfloyd ve Hans Zimmer etkilerini taşıdıyan Princess Chelsea adlı solo proje Princess Chelsea'yi yapmışlar. Projede ayrıca Dr Dre, Grieg, Air, Jonathan Richman, Alan Menken, Daniel Johnston, Enya, The Beach Boys, Kraftwerk, West Auckland gibi bir çok isimden etkilenerek müzik icra ediyorlarmış.

In 2010 more than 420 couples split up due the problems associated with cigarette smoking.

Princess Chelsea has dramatized this statistical data, composed, filmed and turned this simple data in to a characteristic track "Cigarette Duet". Princess Chelsea is not the band but a solo project; which includes the singer of New Zeeland band The Brunettes' singer Chelsea Nikkel and again other friends Jonathan Brunette (also from the Brunettes), Pikachunes, Bradley Artesque and Gay Kings Queen. This track has especially inspirations from Walt Disney, J.S. Bach, Pinkfloyd and Hans Zimmer. But they also inspired by Dr Dre, Grieg, Air, Jonathan Richman, Alan Menken, Daniel Johnston, Enya, The Beach Boys, Kraftwerk, West Auckland and do something different as their inspiration zone.

Enjoy,

It’s just a cigarette & it cannot be that bad Honey don’t you love me and you know it makes me sad?
It’s just a cigarette like you always used to do
I was different then, I don’t need them to be cool

It’s just a cigarette and it harms your pretty lungs
Well it’s only twice a week so there’s not much of a chance
It’s just a cigarette it’ll soon be only ten
Honey can’t you trust me when I want to stop I can

It’s just a cigarette and it’s just a Malboro Light
Maybe but is it worth it if we fight?
It’s just a cigarette that I got from Jamie-Lee
She’s gonna get a smack and I’m gonna give you three

It’s just a cigarette and I only did it once
it’s only twice a week so there’s not much of a chance
It’s just a cigarette and I’m sorry that I did it
Honey can’t you trust me when I want to stop I can

Liz Durrett - Not Running

Atina'da yaşayan Amerikalı bir ses Liz Durrett "not running" diyor bugün. Sakin olmasını dilediğimiz Çarşambalarımız için...

Athen based American singer-song writer Liz Durrett says "not running" today. For the rush Wednesdays which we hoped to be calmer...Enjoy

Birds lifted away all that we gave them
Now summer’s parade quietly fades on a reel
I pulled down the lights from every last tiny limb
Tucked away signs that we’d been here

Though some may say, to live this way, is hiding
Not hiding, we are unashamed
Or running, not running, we are unafraid

Letters await, reading them late in the day
Eloquent phrase turns my heart in its cage
How can I be so hopeless and then
So full of hope, I might implode with it

Though some may say, to live this way, is hiding
Not hiding, we are unashamed
Or running, not running, we are unafraid

Caro Emerald - Back it up

Peki nasıl oldu da biz bu kızı tanıdık derseniz, her şey Back it Up adlı parçaya demo kayıt yapan yapımcıların Caro'yu davet etmesiyle başlamış. Sonrasında ise viral bir güç ile, tüm dünya Caro'nun bu demosunu dinlemeye başlamış, radyolar Back It Up çalmış, You Tube'a yüklenen demo paylaşılmış da paylaşılmış.

Caro Emerald, real name: Caroline van der Leuuw, was born in the beautiful city Amsterdam, Netherlands. She studied jazz at the conservatory in Amsterdam and finished her study in 2005 - pretty new! So how come we know this woman? It all started when she was invited to sing a demo record for the song "Back It Up" At that time she was already singing as a solist in a close-harmony vocal group Les Elles, in Philarmonic Funk Foundation, and even in children festivals. would she ever thought about being so known on the way to that demo recording? We will never know. The song, whis had a hip-hop base got perfect with Caro's jazzy vocal. The Dutch producer and the Canadian songwriter didn't see the light and it was just a demo record. But after a while there was a viral effect of the song, the radios played it, she sang it in Amsterdam TV's and the Youtube video got so round the world. As an answer to this attention, in 2008 they recorded an album "Deleted Scenes from the Cutting Room Floor " The album tasted a bit of 40's 50's jazz, easy listening and an orchestral latin. The official video clip for the record has therefor also a lot from the Hollywood Studios in 40's and 50's. Enjoy it. The second video is an acoustic session recorded in streets of Paris.

Hooverphonic - Anger never dies

Hooverphonic - Anger Never Dies / "Long Way from Home" Istanbul Acoustic Sessions from Long Way From Home on Vimeo.

Belçikalı rock-pop grubu Hooverphonic İstanbul'un en güzel müzik-video projelerinden biri olan "Long Way from Home - İstanbul Acoustic Sessions" kapsamında şehri tepeden gören bir çatıya ilişip "Anger never dies" demiş, hak veriyoruz.

The Belgian rock-pop band Hooverphonic says "Anger never dies" on a roof in İstanbul (couldn't agree more, nice touch) for one of the best music-video projects "Long Way from Home - İstanbul Acoustic Sessions". The name of the group was formerly "Hoover", just because a vacuum cleaning company called Hoover they changed their name into Hooverphonic not to have a license problem. The band was formed in 95 and the music they made was called trip hop (a down tempo electronic music) but after the band got older, it was no more easy to talk about just one genre. Now their music includes electronic, alternative, electro pop and even rock influences. But i love the acoustic performance instead :) Enjoy

See the leaves how slow they tumble down
covering the green and yellow lawn
as proof of what has been and what will come
enjoying hazy lights of early dawn
it ain't good enough to try and not succeed

anger never dies
it's part of live
it's part of you
the end will cease the fire
and make us accept
we tend to lose

See the tears how slow they tumble down
covering believe in empty vows
as proof of what has been and what will be
alcohol puts us both to sleep
it'aint't good enough to try and not succeed

anger never dies
it's part of live
it's part of you
the end will cease the fire
and make us accept
we tend to lose

anger never dies
it's part of live
it's part of you
the end will cease the fire
and make us accept
we tend to lose
we tend to lose

Having a desert wind in her luggage, a great vocal Hindi Zahra has also tasted the french wine for a long while. I won't cry as all the tickets for her upcoming concert in CRR Istanbul are already sold out! Because I was lucky enough to watch her performance twice :) She melts the etnic melodies in jazz with her smile and she is in love with her profession. She sings in English, French and Berberian (a local language and kind of french-arabish mix) It's a great joy to listen her but even more joy if you see her as she performs live! This voice will trhow some melody in our Monday with her Berberian-English song Imik Simik just before she enlightens the city. If you like her and want a little more info about her you can visit this link (unfortunately only available in turkish) ; "çöl kızı Hindi Zahra sessizce gülümser mikrofona, ve şehir dinler..."

Enjoy

Kimbra - Plain Gold Ring, Settle Down

Kimbra - "Plain Gold Ring" (Live at Sing Sing Studios) from Forum5 Recordings on Vimeo.

Kimbra mixes the soul sound with a theatrical pop and carries the footprints of "very" different sounds like Nina Simona, Björk and even the Prince. Has its unique musics especially with the cut and paste vocals, which I believe brings a lot to their music. So nice to meet her :)

Enjoy
